Halloween Dogs!

This is my lobster Capone. He did not like his costume and promptly shook it off.

Bodie on the other hand enjoyed being a turtle. He went straight to bed and tucked his feet under like a turtle and fell asleep. I let him sleep in his costume overnight.

Nano's first time

Now don't anyone get upset by this picture, it is old. This is my bestie Nancy. She had never been to a live production of anything! We went to the Plaza Theater on 16th and Classen October 27th to see Sweeney Todd! Tears could be pooling in my eyes now just speaking of it! It was amazing! The theater is a smaller venue. There is no curtain and their wasn't enough budget for elaborate set designs but it didn't matter. The production was magnificent! If you could see us grasp hands in excitement over hearing Mrs Lovett's solo you would have thought you had found the two biggest nerds.

So- just by chance, that evening's performance was followed up with a Q-and-A with the cast. I had never had that opportunity so we decided to stick around. I was facinated how these actors could sing so beautifully while using a Cheapside London accent. We decided that I would ask that question. I never did. The first question goes a little like this, and I am paraphrasing:

"Since the original production took place during the Industrial Revolution, did you find yourselves finding parallels with the poverty and failed business of today while preparing your character?"

GAG! I will never call myself a nerd again.... at least for a while. I think I have a somewhat intelligent mind, but I felt stupid in that room. It was fun to listen to the conversation though :) Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is my new favorite hands down!

Mom's birthday!

We celebrated my mother's birthday in Kansas City. She surprised us all by flying out my brother Garry, sister-in-law Melissa, and nephew Hunter! It was a wonderful treat to have Hunter fly into my arms when I opened the door. Mom took advantage of Aunt J's photography skills and had our pictures taken. This is one of them.

It is rare these days to get the four of us together since Garry lives in Idaho but we always have a nice time together. I miss Garry tremendously. It is fair to say that Jessica and Jordan are closer with each other and I am closest with Garry. Even though he has been gone a long time it never feels that way when I see him.

I thought this was a great picture that was taken of the girls. You can't tell from looking at the picture but it was freezing in the park!

Tongue Tacos

Holly took me to this Taqueria for my birthday and I brought Diann and Bill to eat there last week! Granted, the taco van outside of the Sears in Salt Lake City is tastier, but this place is almost as good!

I have eaten here three times and I always forget to take pictures of my food! This is my empty plate! This evening I had one taco, one beef stomach taco, and a tongue taco! Yum Yum indeed. The carrots in the upper right corner are delicious! I can't pinpoint the flavor but cloves are involved. I also am a salsa fiend and they make wonderfully pungent and spicy salsas!

This of course is Bill and Diann! Bill is my BFF and Diann is my separated twin separated by a few years! I attend all of the single events with Bill and Diann and I are Ballet Oklahoma season ticket holders! She will be going with me to Kansas City in November to see HMS Pinafore.

I discovered another song almost as vile as Y.B.I.A.W by John Mayer. This is atrocious. I never get the literal songs about current events! Can song writers no longer find the right allegory to convey their message? Gag me with a spoon. This is perfect specimen why I general do not enjoy mainstream country.

Feed Me Seymour!

This is my view from the "Grand Tier" at the Civic Center. I was on row "A". These seats were good, but I prefer center row B in the pit. I am a chair snob! I want to see facial expressions, do you blame me!?! I haven't watched Little Shop of Horrors in a long time. I am talking 15 years at least! I have only seen the Rick Moranis version, fyi. I was completely surprised when the songs came back to me! I was singing along and laughing! It was great! I will say that Orrin the Dentist was distracting. I usually can separate past characters I have seen, so the performance isn't ruined, but oh how I wish Steve Martin was on stage! The guys who were Audrey 2 (mechanically that is..) were amazing.

I had a great time and I went alone. There was a crazy lady talking about her couples therapy that was annoying but overall a successful evening! I also learned by reading the Bill that SWEENEY TODD WILL BE IN OKC IN OCTOBER!!!!!!!! .....Have you seen my cat? I am so there!
