Marren's first movie!

Marren went to the movies for the first time 3-22-11! I never got a perfect picture but this one is the best! We went to the Crossroad's Dollar movies! I haven't been her in ages! Notice the antique seats and dirty cup holders! :)

She was great! We saw Tangled! It was really good. Marren liked all the songs and would shout out words like, "Sad Girl", "Horse", and "Popcorn". There were only like 8-10 people in the audience so I wasn't too worried about her outbursts. It was a great afternoon!

Half-Blood Prince

Well, I waited for Boogie. SHE didn't wait for me. She and mom went to see the movie without me. I am quite proud for waiting. It did nearly do me in though, truly. Jessica thinks I am mad, I am sure. When the lights darkened I did a little happy dance in my seat. She gave me a classic "You are such a geek" look and kind of laughed to herself.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Half-Blood Prince. It wasn't as abysmal as I anticipated. I have been let down by the movies. In the past I have felt they "dumbed them down" and the tone of the films have been patronizing at best. Kids are smart! Anyway there were only a few small things I disliked. *SPOILER ALERT*SPOILER ALERT*SPOILER ALERT*

1. Harry should have been stunned in the tower by Dumbledore.
2. The end battle was too brief. You can't even call it a battle. It makes it look like the Death Eaters entered and left the castle undetected!
3. Burning down the Burrow. I can't even say anything else about this!
4. The Order of the Phoenix were missing.

Bravo to Snape and Draco. It's no secret that I love Alan Rickman, but Mr Tom Felton did a fine job playing Draco. I also was impressed with Jim Broadbent. He was too skinny for "my" Slughorn but I thought his portrayal was fabulous and very funny.

I will see it again for sure.

I am in agony!

I promised Jessica that I wouldn't go see the new Harry Potter movie without her. It's too bad I don't break promises like I break secrets. The midnight movie is tonight and I am bummed. I have to wait a week for her to return to go see it! What was I thinking? I am the girl who went to a University costume party to celebrate the 7th book release with the Utah cousins! I don't fancy the movies like I do the books, but this movie is getting praise from critics for being realistic and not campy! Arrrrrgggggg! I might need to ask permission to see the movie before she comes back from vacation.

Movie Review

Boogie and I went to a movie last night. The Proposal is hilarious! I love Betty White! I can only hope to get away with what she says when I am 80 years old. I laughed throughout the entire movie. Ryan Reynolds has some great facial expressions (and abs). If you a are a fan of The Office you are in for a treat. Oscar Nunez has a great supporting role in this movie.

I have never dreamed of being called "Satan's Mistress" but after seeing this movie I wouldn't complain if I were. :)

This gets a 10/10. I will be buying this movie when it becomes available on DVD.

Midnight Movie Madness

This is the view from the Balcony at the Warren Theater. I don't know why I didn't snap one of me and Boogie, I guess I was too tired already. We went to see Transformers 2. Total nerd fest if I say so myself. People were in matching shirts and some had masks. I must admid I pondered where I could get a Transformer mask. The theater went dark and the applause began. It was almost a "Twilightesque" atmosphere. The movie was ok. I enjoyed it but a little peeved that I paid $18 for a ticket.

I actually thought that some of the language was unnecessary. I don't censor my movies. If it doesn't make me feel bad, I am usually cool with it. For example If you are watching Saving Private Ryan, there will be violence come on its war! Anyway I digress.

I think I give it 7/10. I might have rated it higher but my eyes are burning and at the moment I am siding with the Decepticons in their pursuit of destroying the sun since I can't sleep when it's light.

Oh- I am too old to go to a midnight movie! I got home at 2:45 and got back up at 5:50am!

Amendments to the list

I have decided to have two and only two honorable mentions to my hot list. Aunt J mentioned the above scene and I couldn't agree more! Christopher Plummer as Captain von Trapp is very handsome. It's funny how one movie and make you think of another, so by serendipity I also add Yul Brynner as King Mongkut. I thoroughly enjoy The King and I whether it be the musical or the movie. Yul Brynner looks severe but very good looking too!

Top Ten!

So People Mag came out with their top 100 hot people and I thought I would share mine! The difference is, some of my top ten are the fictional characters the actors portray! Have fun and NO DROOLING!!!!

#1 COLLIN FIRTH- He is my #1 real or imagined. The smooth delivery of his voice, those penetrating eyes! Hello Mr. Darcy!!!!

#2 HAN SOLO- No imaginary hot boyfriend list is complete without the rebel Solo. I would definitely cruise into hyperdrive with Han!

#3 CHANNING TATUM- He is just gorgeous! I first saw him in "She's the Man." I can't say anymore about him without blushing. He looks really yummy in the GI Joe trailer.

#4 JAKE RYAN as played by Michael Schoeffling- Jake Ryan holds a special place in my heart. I blame him for wanting a birthday cake on a dining room table with a magical first kiss over candle light! I don't know anyone near my age who wouldn't cry if this girlish fantasy came true!

#5 MICHAEL VARTAN- He might be an unknown for some. He played Sidney Bristow's handler and love interest, Michael Vaughn. He is my sensitive pick. He is very convincing. If you haven't seen Alias, you should check it out on Netflix. He also played in "Never Been Kissed."

#6 RHETT BUTLER- Yeah so I have heard that Clark Gable in real life was kind of smelly and chain smoked and had dentures, but I would let Captain Butler save me from the Yankees even today! Rhett was a man's man! I like the idea of someone loving a strong willed woman and not a wilting flower! Not many book characters look like the actors who played them for me, but I will say that MY RHETT looks exactly like Clark Gable.

#7 SYLAR- Zachary Quinto does an excellent job playing the diabolical SYLAR on Heroes! I can almost feel the comtempt watching him blast the good guys! Zachary almost makes the list as a hot guy and character but he looks goofy in the Star Trek photos.

#8 MICHAEL CARRINGTON played by Maxwell Caulfield- Ok so laugh if you will, but Grease 2 blows Grease out of the water! I watched Grease 2 the first time probably at the age of 5. I did see #2 before the original and I must say that Michael Carrington is way hotter that Danny Zucko! When he sings "Charade"..... my oh my! A dream sequence in biker heaven is more plausible than a flying car and thats all I will say about that!

#9 TOM SELLECK- Now I can thank my mom for liking Tom Selleck. He is so handsome and very gentlemanly. He truly seems like a good person in the interviews I have read. He looks good in every role I see him play. I am not a 'stache person, but his is GRRREAT!

#10 ERIC DANE aka DR MCSTEAMY- I love Grey's Anatomy! I prefer Dr Mark Sloan over McDreamy. He is considered a rogue, which is probably why I like him better than Derek.
