Stinky stinky turtle

I don't know when I became the mom that stopped for every creature or bug so Marren could inspect it... I guess I don't want her to be fearful of harmless bugs... I turned around for a tiny turtle in the road that I originally thought was a spider... Yes I would have stopped for a spider that big too! Anyway, turtles are smelly. I nearly gagged. I don't remember them being so nasty. We used to hunt turtles all the time for the Okie spirit parties. I put him in the front yard and let Marren play with it. It peed all over her! She loved it. I almost freaked though when she tried to kiss it. Hand washing and a bath that night still didn't totally take the stench away. Two days later, we spied a large snapping turtle and Marren only chased it. Yuck!

The easy life of Marren

She is just like her momma! She will eat salsa by the spoonful! I love her side bow and rhinestones!
She loves salad and tomatoes!

As my mom will point out, she still has her shoes on. It is not a common thing so chill out YaYa! Doesn't she look comfy?

She leads such a rough life! She loves her little chair. She even colors in it! (Garage Sale $3)

My little reader!

I think it is working! My plan is to turn Marren into a "reader" without her being aware of it as she gets older. I love to read and am still able to read 1-2 books a week as a single parent. I have books for Marren EVERYWHERE! Her room, the car, the living room, books for the bath, books for her stroller.... You name the place and chances are there is a book waiting for her. Nancy, Marren's Nano, my best friend said that when she goes to her toybox she pulls everything out and takes her the BOOKS! YAY!

Zoo Pics!

The Elephants were too far away, Marren called them hippos. After I told her what they were she, of course, said, "Scared, Elephant!"

The two females returned this week. I couldn't really tell which one is pregnant. Whomever it is, she is due in about 8 weeks.

This rhino kept spraying urine on the gate. (The white stuff you see in the pic) Marren laughed so I imagine she saw it.

Marren loves the zoo! She, herself, attracts attention too! This time only two people took her picture. I can't really stop them without causing a scene but she's pretty entertaining with her running commentary. I like to think it's because she says please, thank you, your welcome, and bless you with frequent regularity in tones no on would mistake as quiet. I bought a zoo pass today so we can continue coming all year. It was a great deal! 5 more visits and it pays for itself and I image we will be frequent flyers. Next time I hope to take her to the seal and/or dolphin show.

She looks a little scary here..... I don't have a clue how to photoshop a person's eyes open! :) I was super happy that my parents could be there with us!

I of course choked again when answering simple questions! It was embassy day all over again!

"Sexy, Sexy"

Dustin had his family birthday party at his and Jessica's house. Dustin's nieces brought over the dancing game for the xbox 360 connect so we could play. Marren lost it over this game. She would try to push the girls out of the way so she could dance. Jessica and I were crying! It was so hilarious! I recorded this and I tried to keep the camera steady. If you listen closely you may hear Marren say, "sexy, sexy" which was repeated over and over in this song. It's not the usual music she listens too but it is so funny! I wish I were able to post Jessica's video..... it is 100x better!

My weird little book worm

Marren loves to climb in the toy crates Nancy keeps for her. She also likes to read in the crates. So silly. Hopefully she continues reading. I will have to be sneaky so she loves books on her own and not because I want her to love them as much as I do!

Marren is a fish! She loves water! She pours it in her face, she laps it like a dog.... '"Wattee"' is her favorite!

These pics were taken in September. Only in Oklahoma can you you stick your 13 month old baby in a kiddie pool and not be concerned that she will get chilly! I love this swimsuit!

I am sure I did something to make her displeased with me!

She looks so sweet here! Pay no attention to the nasty 1968 covered patio! I should have replaced it after the hailstorm but I procrastinate marvelously! My new french door looks good though........
