The Queen!

This is my only photo, sorry mom..... Marren and I went to eat dinner Saturday night at the Queen of Sheba. Diane, my friend from down the street, went with us! It was the semi-annual dinner at the Queen with other families who have adopted or are adopting children from Ethiopia. We met several nice families and have added a couple more blogs I can stalk! :) JK. It was so nice to meet other people who have gone through the same things I have!

Marren enjoyed the injera and liked the lentils, chickpeas, string beans and the curry potato and carrot mixture. She would have been too young to eat in in Ethiopia but I am glad she is trying it early on so we can continue to go as she gets older.

Red Striped jumper

I bought Marren a retro-looking terry cloth jumper that is red and white. It was on clearance at Toys R Us and felt like it would be okay spending $8 and change (including tax). Oklahoma has a lot of summer left and I have searched for striped clothing and usually don't have much luck so nothing was stopping me from buying it...... even if it's a size 3-6 months. I knew it would be close on the fit and probably on the small side but I wanted it. Jessica says it looks ridiculous but I think she looks cute. (It does make her belly look huge) :)

Sunday with YaYa and PaPa

I absolutely love this picture. Marren is finally okay with sitting in the grass. She still hands me every piece she pulls but now she will move around the yard and not just sit in one spot paralyzed with fear of the texture of grass. This is the shot I wanted. She was so engrossed in pulling apart this blade that she never looked up.

Marren likes to be pushed around the patio on this American Flyer tricycle. It has an adjustable seat so dad moved up as far is would go. The metal pole you see in the background is actually a handle you can use to steer the tricycle. Oh and that is ketchup on her shirt from her eggs.

I can't keep Miss Marren off the back porch step! It wouldn't be a problem but Marren likes to "bear crawl" down the step which means she has a great chance of falling head first off a 2 foot step! Ok, that is slightly exaggerated..... it may be 8-9 inches high. It still would give her a bump.

I dressed her in a tutu with her Madonna "Blonde Ambition 1987" top for Sophie's birthday party. This is the best photo she would allow me to take! I will have to try again, she looked cute.

My funny girl is 1! She did great at the photo studio! This outfit was the 3rd one we put her in and she was moving fast! We only had a few good shots because she kept running and crawling all over the place! I did order this picture because I think it's hilarious! I only wish the #1 sign was the right way!

Marren wanted to play peek a boo in the tulle. She was in such a good mood! This is the first set of professional pictures I have had taken so I was concerned that she wouldn't cooperate but she did great!

I am so lucky that she is in my life!
